Dimanche 29 mars, 18h, Nouvel Espace Japon,

S'il y a un lieu récemment ouvert, enfin, depuis cette rentrée ! ! ... Qui mérite toute notre attention, c'est bien le Nouvel Espace Japon ! ...
L'endroit est agréable, très convivial avec un petit bar et de charmantes hôtesses ...une occasion rêvée d'améliorer son Japonais sans peine ! ...
Dimanche, Makoto Sato qui organise aussi les concerts, jouait dans le trio formé par Lucien Johnson et Yoram Russilio.
Lucien Johnson, dont on a déjà dit le plus grand bien à l'occasion d'un concert mémorable à l'Atelier Tampon avec Alan Silva, nous offrait quelques unes de ses compositions ...
On peut dire que l'impression se confirme et que ce gaillard semble promis à un très bel avenir ...
Le trio sonne bien, l'espace est très bien maîtrisé, la parole circule bien entre les joueurs ...que demander de plus ? ! ...
Les compositions de Lucien rappellent le jeu puissant et jubilatoire de Rollins ... il a en outre, une forme de lyrisme qui lui appartient bien et lui permet d'ouvrir l'espace et de relancer sans ostentation thèmes et grooves à son gré.
Yoram Rosilio est un contrebassiste tout à fait remarquable ... que nous avons découvert à cette occasion
Son jeu est vraiment superbe, il y a de la puissance, de la précision et de la virtuosité ...
C'est très créatif, varié et jamais prétentieux ...
Makoto, qu'on ne présente plus ! ... s'est montré aussi inventif que ses partenaires ... Alliant comme (presque ! ) toujours, humour, finesse et puissance avec beaucoup d'aisance dans ce trio percutant !

Après la performance, une excellente nourriture asiatique nous fut offerte ... oui, j'ai bien écrit : offerte ! ...
Compte tenu du prix modique des places, on se demande comment cela se peut ? ! ! ...
Bientôt, on viendra nous chercher en taxi et on nous proposera de garder les enfants à domicile ! ! ...
Décidément, le Japon reste une terre d'énigme même pour ses familiers ! ...

Finally a venue which has opened this year! One which deserves our attention: the new Espace Japon!

The place is charming, very convivial with a little bar and charming waitresses...the dream opportunity to practice one's Japanes without embarassement!

Sunday, Makoto Sato, who organises the concerts, played in a trio with Lucien Johnson and Yoram Rosilio.

Lucien Johnson, whom we have already said great things about regarding the the memorable concert at the Atelier Tampon with Alan Silva, offered us some of his compositions...

We can say that the impression we had is confirmed and that this robust fellow seems to promise a wonderful future.

The trio sounds good, space is well utilised, the dialogue circulates well between the players...what more could we ask?

Lucien's compositions remind one of the powerful and jubilant playing of Rollins...in addition to a form of lyricism which is his own and allows him to open up the space and launch unpretentiously into themes and grooves at will Yoram Rosilio is an absolutely remarkable double bassis that we discovered for the first time this evening. His playing is truly superb, he has power, precision and virtuosity. It is very creative, varied and never pretentious...

There's no need to present Makoto! he was equally as inventive as his partners.. As (almost) always humourous, full of finesse, power and totally at ease in this hard hitting trio!

After the performance an excellent Korean dish was offered. Yes I said offered! Given the price of tickets one wonders how they managed.

Soon they'll be collecting us in a taxi and providing a baby sitter for the children!

For sure, Japan remains a land of enigma, even for the acquainted!
